Defense cooperation between the UK and Poland
The agreement marks the largest commercial deal signed between the UK and Poland to date.
British defense company MBDA has signed a 4 billion pound agreement with Poland-based defense company PGZ for the delivery of a next-generation air defense system to Poland.
In a statement from the UK Ministry of Defence, it was noted that the agreement is a milestone for continuing the next phase of Poland's Narew air defense program.
The statement emphasized that the cooperation between the two countries will strengthen Europe's security, noting that the 4 billion pound deal is the largest commercial agreement signed between the UK and Poland to date.
The statement indicated that the agreement signed by the British MBDA with PGZ will provide the Polish armed forces with an advanced air defense system capable of launching missiles at a range of over 40 kilometers against air threats such as cruise missiles and fighter jets. Within the framework of the project, more than 1,000 extended-range common modular air defense missiles and over 100 launchers will be produced.
