Did Iran ask Russia for help? Statement from the Kremlin

The Russian Foreign Ministry stated that attacks by the US and Israel against Iran have raised tensions in the Middle East, accusing the two countries of attempting to draw Arab states into the conflict.

In a statement from the ministry, it was alleged that the attacks by the US and Israel are forcing Iran to retaliate against targets located in certain Arab countries.

“LOSS OF LIFE AND PROPERTY IS OCCURRING”

The statement pointed out that the ongoing developments have led to loss of life and property in the region, expressing that Russia feels “deep regret” over the events.

While Moscow expressed the view that these attacks increase the risk of a wider conflict on a regional scale, it emphasized that the US and Israel are trying to involve Arab countries in the war in line with their own interests.

“THE WAY TO LOWER TENSIONS IS TO STOP THE ATTACKS”

The Russian Foreign Ministry emphasized that the attacks against Iran must be ended for stability to be restored in the region. However, the statement also noted that there are no signs that tensions will decrease in the short term under current conditions.

“NO REQUEST FOR AID FROM IRAN”

Kremlin Spokesperson Dmitry Peskov also responded to a question regarding whether Iran had requested weapons or any other military support from Russia.

Peskov said, “There has been no request from Iran regarding the current situation. We have not received any application on this matter.”

Stating that Russia's policy on Iran is known and has not changed, Peskov expressed that Moscow's approach to the issue remains the same. Regarding questions about whether Russia would provide political support to Iran, Peskov also said that the position previously announced by Moscow remains valid.
