Donald Trump and Elon Musk to hold interview ahead of US presidential election

Billionaire entrepreneur Elon Muskis preparing to add a new dimension to the US presidential election with an interview he will conduct on the X (formerly Twitter) social media platform with Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump . 

The interview, scheduled for 8 PM local time, could provide Trump with a chance to regain the spotlight at a time when his campaign has been losing momentum.

Vice President Kamala Harris, has erased the lead of his Democratic rival, Harris, in public opinion polls ahead of the upcoming election. 

Harris has managed to mobilize Democratic voters with a series of high-energy rallies. While this has caused Trump to lose ground in the election race, the interview with Musk could offer Trump an opportunity to reach a different audience.

It was announced that the interview will be broadcast live on Trump's official X account. Musk stated that he would conduct some system tests in advance for this event, noting that similar events on the platform had experienced technical issues in the past.

Trump's @realDonaldTrump account on the X platform was suspended by the platform's previous owners following the attack on the Capitol on January 6, 2021. 

However, access was restored after Musk acquired X. Since then, Trump has been actively using his own social media platform, Truth Social.

Although Musk supported Democratic President Joe Biden in 2020, he has shifted to the right in recent years and moved closer to the Republican Party. Following an assassination attempt on Trump in July, he explicitly stated that he supports the Republicans.

Trump, in turn, has changed his stance in response to this shift. In a rally he held in August, "I'm for electric cars. I have to be, because Elon endorsed me very strongly." That is why I have no other choice" he had said.

These remarks by Trump led Shawn Fain, president of the United Auto Workers who supports Harris, to label him a "scab."
