Draft of US peace plan with Russia delivered to Ukraine

A new development has emerged regarding the 28-point plan developed by US President Donald Trump to end the war between Russia and Ukraine.

In a statement issued by the Ukrainian Presidency, it was announced that the draft peace plan prepared by the US had been delivered to Ukraine. The statement noted that Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has identified the fundamental principles important to the Ukrainian people and has decided to work on the points of the plan to bring the war to a just conclusion.

Emphasizing that Ukraine has wanted to end the war from the very first moment, the statement indicated that Ukraine supports all meaningful steps and proposals that would bring an end to the conflict.

The statement said, "Since the beginning of this year, Ukraine has supported President Trump's proposals to end the bloodshed. We are currently ready to work constructively with our partners in the US, Europe, and the world to ensure peace."

The statement also conveyed that Zelenskyy plans to discuss current diplomatic opportunities and the fundamental points necessary for peace with President Trump in the coming days.

"NO REAL CONSULTATION IS TAKING PLACE"

Kremlin Spokesperson Dmitry Peskov, in a statement regarding the plan in question, had previously stated that any peace plan must address the root causes of the war and that no negotiations are currently being held with the US regarding the plan. Peskov had remarked, "No real consultation is taking place. Of course, we are maintaining our contacts. However, there is no process currently that could be described as a consultation."

When asked whether Putin had been informed about the 28-point peace plan, Peskov replied, "I have nothing to add to what I have said before."
