Scandalous statement from Elon Musk: 'No one is trying to assassinate Harris'

Elon Musk stated that 'no one is trying to assassinate' US President Joe Biden or Vice President and Democratic presidential nominee Kamala Harris. Reacting to Musk's words, the White House emphasized that Musk was 'acting irresponsibly' and stated that 'violence should never be encouraged.'

According to a report by the BBC, White House Deputy Press Secretary Andrew Bates made a statement regarding the post Musk made on his social media platform X about Biden and Harris, which he subsequently deleted.

Following the incident described as an 'assassination attempt' against former US President Donald Trump, Elon Musk had made a statement yesterday on his X account, the social media platform he owns.

Musk had shortly thereafter deleted the post in which he used the phrase, 'And no one is even trying to assassinate Biden/Kamala.'

Stating that there is no place for political violence in the US, Bates said regarding Musk's post, 'Violence should only be condemned, never encouraged or joked about. This rhetoric is irresponsible.'

SECRET SERVICE INVESTIGATING THREATS AGAINST HARRIS AND BIDEN

A statement was also made to the BBC by the US Secret Service regarding the matter. In the statement, it was shared that the Secret Service was 'aware' of Musk's post and that threats against protectees are being investigated.

Following the backlash, Musk implied in a subsequent statement that he was joking, saying, 'Turns out jokes are way less funny if people don't know the context and the delivery is plain text.'

Gunshots were heard in the vicinity of the golf course where former US President Trump was located in Florida, after which it was reported that he was safe.

Trump's eldest son, Donald Trump Jr., announced that an AK-47 rifle was found in the bushes on the course by local law enforcement after the incident and that a suspect had been apprehended. It was stated that a Secret Service agent had fired at the suspect while Trump, whom he was tasked with protecting, was playing golf.
