Emphasis on 'potential changes' to Israel-Hamas agreement
The Israeli military stated that the general outlines of the agreement reached with Hamas in Gaza, which provides for a humanitarian pause in fighting, are not "final" and may be subject to change.
Army Spokesperson Daniel Hagari noted in a press conference that they had received a preliminary list containing the names of the women and children that Hamas is set to release in Gaza.
IT WAS STATED THAT 'GENERAL OUTLINES' OF THE AGREEMENT MAY BE SUBJECT TO CHANGE
Claiming that Hamas would exploit the agreement and the humanitarian pause in fighting to "spread false news and conduct psychological warfare," Hagari said the army is working to complete the prisoner exchange deal and prepare for the next phase of the war in Gaza. Noting that the general outlines of the agreement are not final and may be subject to change, Hagari said, "The prisoner exchange with Hamas will be the beginning of the return of all hostages. Afterward, the Israeli army will continue the war (in Gaza)."
INFORMATION REGARDING BORDER CONFLICTS
Providing information on the losses suffered by the Israeli military, Hagari said that a total of 392 soldiers have been killed since October 7, but did not share details on how many soldiers have been killed since the start of the ground operation (October 27).
Pointing to the front opened with Hezbollah on the Lebanese border and the clashes there, Hagari expressed that the situation there could spiral out of control at any moment.
Hagari added that they would launch powerful attacks on the locations in southern Lebanon from where missiles are being fired.
The agreement reached between Hamas and Israel will come into effect on Friday, November 24, at 07:00 local time. The humanitarian pause in fighting will last for 4 days, during which 150 Palestinians in Israeli prisons will be released in exchange for 50 Israeli hostages held by Hamas. The humanitarian pause will also include the entry of aid into Gaza through the Rafah Border Crossing.
