Erdoğan: Turkey is ready to host peace talks
President and AKP Chairman Recep Tayyip Erdoğan reiterated his offer to host peace negotiations between Ukraine and Russia in Istanbul during his meetings with Russian leader Putin and French President Macron.
According to a statement from the Directorate of Communications, the Erdoğan-Putin meeting addressed bilateral relations between Turkey and Russia, as well as regional and global issues.
During the meeting, Erdoğan expressed to Russian President Putin that "the statement regarding the continuation of peace talks between Russia and Ukraine from where they left off in Istanbul was welcomed, and that Turkey is ready to host negotiations that will lead to a lasting solution."
Erdoğan stated that "a window of opportunity has opened for achieving peace, and that establishing a comprehensive ceasefire would create the necessary environment for peace talks."

AKP Chairman and President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan also held a phone call with French President Emmanuel Macron.
According to the statement from the Directorate of Communications, the meeting addressed bilateral relations between Turkey and France, as well as regional and global issues.

During the meeting, Erdoğan stated that a historic turning point has been reached in the effort to end the war between Ukraine and Russia, that this opportunity must be seized, and that Turkey is ready to provide all kinds of contributions, including hosting negotiations, to ensure a ceasefire and lasting peace.
Erdoğan noted that it is important to continue cooperation in the processes of initiating lasting peace negotiations between Ukraine and Russia and in the reconstruction of Ukraine.
