EU decides to continue economic sanctions against Russia!

The European Union (EU) has decided to extend the duration of the economic sanctions it has been imposing since 2014 due to Russia's actions against Ukraine until July 31.

In its statement, the EU recalled that the sanctions in place were expanded following Russia's attack on Ukraine in February 2022.

To date, the EU has implemented 12 packages of sanctions against Russia. The sanctions against Russia cover a wide range, including trade, finance, industry, technology, transport, dual-use goods, and luxury products.

The ban on the import of seaborne crude oil and certain petroleum products from Russia to the EU, the removal of some Russian banks from the international payment system SWIFT, and the suspension of the activities of numerous media outlets are also among the sanctions.
