The EU has decided to lift economic sanctions against Syria.

Making a statement regarding the decision, EU Foreign Policy Chief Kaja Kallas said, "Today, we have decided to lift our economic sanctions on Syria. We want to support the Syrian people in building a new, inclusive, and peaceful Syria. The EU has stood by the Syrians for the past 14 years and will continue to do so."

Syrian Foreign Minister Assad Shaibani also stated, "The Syrian people have achieved another historic success with the lifting of the European Union's sanctions on Syria.

We express our gratitude to all EU countries that contributed to this victory and to everyone who provided support.

This decision will ensure increased security, stability, and prosperity in Syria. Syria deserves a bright future that is the right of its people and its civilization," he declared.
