In a statement made to a television channel and published on the Ministry's Facebook page, al-Kaila provided information regarding the state of the healthcare sector in Gaza.

Stating that fuel, electricity, and medical supplies are needed for hospitals in Gaza to continue operating, al-Kaila said that 16 hospitals and 51 health centers have become non-functional due to attacks and a lack of fuel.

"FIELD HOSPITALS MUST BE ESTABLISHED"

Pointing out that even under normal conditions the number of beds in Gaza's hospitals was insufficient, al-Kaila noted that the fact that 16 hospitals are out of service and over 24 thousand people have been injured in the attacks has caused a major shortage in the number of beds.

Stating that patients are being operated on in non-sterile environments, in hospital corridors, and by the light of mobile phones, al-Kaila expressed that field hospitals must be established in Gaza.

Al-Kaila called on the world and international organizations to take action to allow the transfer of the wounded to hospitals in Egypt and to permit the entry of fuel and medical supplies into Gaza.
