A statement from the office of Shahin Mustafayev, Deputy Prime Minister of Azerbaijan and Co-Chair of the Azerbaijan-Armenia Border Delimitation Commission, said, “Today, the process of determining coordinates based on geodetic measurements began in the border region. Expert groups from both countries are continuing their work. This process was carried out on the basis of agreements reached as a result of negotiations regarding the resolution of border issues between Azerbaijan and Armenia.”

During the meeting held between the two countries on April 19, the first stage of the delimitation process was carried out, and a preliminary agreement was reached on the return of 4 villages under Armenian occupation to Azerbaijan and the continuation of border delimitation efforts.

Accordingly, a preliminary agreement was reached for the settlements of Baganis, Voskepar, Kirants, and Berkaber to remain in Armenia, while the Azerbaijani villages under Armenian occupation—Baganis Ayrim, Ashagi Eskipara, Heyrimli, and Gizilhajili—are to be returned to Azerbaijan, with the borders to be drawn along this route.
