Flash decision from Israel: Suddenly cancelled
Israeli media reported that the War Cabinet meeting scheduled for last night was suddenly cancelled. It was suggested that the reason was Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's efforts to avoid facing pressure regarding a hostage exchange deal.
According to a report by Israel-based Channel 12 television, the War Cabinet meeting scheduled for last night was cancelled without any reason being provided.
When War Cabinet members, surprised by the unexpected cancellation of the meeting, requested an explanation, they were informed that the discussions would be held in the coming days.
According to information conveyed by Israeli media from government sources regarding the cancellation of the meeting, it was suggested that Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu was attempting to avoid facing pressure from War Cabinet members regarding a potential hostage exchange deal with Hamas. It was reported that Netanyahu is waiting for "concrete" answers from Hamas regarding the parameters of a possible hostage exchange deal before presenting them to the cabinet.
The War Cabinet was established in Israel shortly after the attacks on the Gaza Strip began on October 7, 2023.
In the attacks Israel has carried out on the Gaza Strip since October 7, at least 31,988 Palestinians, including 14,000 children and 9,220 women, have been killed, and 74,188 people have been injured.
While it is reported that there are still thousands of dead under the rubble, civilian infrastructure is also being destroyed by targeting hospitals and educational institutions where the public has taken shelter.
