The UK has announced that it will deploy two Royal Navy ships and maritime patrol and surveillance aircraft to the Eastern Mediterranean to support Israel.

According to Duvar, citing the UK Prime Minister's Office at 10 Downing Street, it was reported that British Prime Minister Rishi Sunak has ordered the deployment of the British military to the Eastern Mediterranean on the grounds of "supporting Israel, strengthening regional stability, and preventing the escalation of tensions."

The statement noted that the Royal Navy ships "RFA Argus" and "RFA Lyme Bay" will be sent to the Eastern Mediterranean, and that maritime patrol and surveillance aircraft will begin flying in the region starting tomorrow to monitor threats to regional stability. Additionally, it was shared that a Royal Navy task group will head to the Eastern Mediterranean next week as a contingency measure to support humanitarian aid efforts.
