Former Israeli Prime Minister Olmert says they have 'destroyed Gaza'

A session titled "Israel-Palestine: A plan for 2 states and a plan for peace" was held at the 7th Paris Peace Forum in the French capital, Paris.

Speaking at the session, Olmert argued that the two-state solution he proposed in 2008 could have completely changed the Middle East and the lives of millions of people in the region.

Olmert stated, "The events of October 7 are unforgettable and unforgivable, and given the circumstances that triggered them, war was inevitable. I have said this many times before; I think the war should have stopped."

"We have destroyed Hamas's military capacity," Olmert said, noting that innocent Palestinian civilians have also died in Gaza.

Olmert said, "We have destroyed Gaza. The impact on the lives of the 2 million citizens in Gaza who are not terrorists and do not contribute to terrorism is terrible."

"WE MUST WITHDRAW FROM GAZA"

Olmert stated that Israel should stop its attacks on Gaza, rescue the hostages, and release the Palestinian prisoners in Israeli jails, continuing as follows:

"We must withdraw from Gaza and allow another force to enter Gaza; the task of this force should be to prevent attacks by Hezbollah or other terrorist groups against the State of Israel. Of course, the Palestinians must form a new administration managed by commissioners. This administration, with the help of the international community and Israel, will manage the situation in Gaza to rebuild it. This will allow us to move toward an approach completely different from the point where we are today."
