France has been mediating for some time to reduce tensions between Lebanon and Israel through diplomatic channels.

France has submitted a proposal to the parties to end the Hezbollah-Israel tension and resolve border issues.

According to a report by Reuters, France's proposal suggests that Israel and Hezbollah mutually end their respective airstrikes and rocket attacks.

In the clashes that have intensified since October 7, Hezbollah has announced that 193 of its members have been killed so far, while Israel has stated that 6 civilians and 10 soldiers have died.

Israel acknowledges that among the people who lost their lives in the attacks it carried out on Lebanon, there are 3 journalists and 19 civilians.

"PERMANENT PEACE" PLAN BASED ON LEBANESE TERRITORY

According to France's peace plan, it is planned that Hezbollah will withdraw from a portion of the territory it currently holds.

The border region between Israel and Lebanon has been one of the areas where tensions have been high, especially since the 2006 Lebanon-Israel war.

According to France's proposal, the aim is to ensure a permanent peace between the two countries in exchange for Hezbollah withdrawing from the territory it controls in the border region.

Accordingly, the 3-stage plan will begin with a 10-day 'de-escalation' process, after which the parties will negotiate how the borders will be shaped. In the final stage, negotiations will continue under French mediation for the long-term normalization of relations between the two countries.

The parties have not yet made a statement regarding France's proposal. However, according to Reuters, the French diplomats who prepared the proposal were in contact with Lebanese officials during this process. It is not known what stance Hezbollah has taken regarding the proposal.
