An explosion occurred during an engine test of the "New Glenn" rocket belonging to the US-based space transport company Blue Origin, owned by billionaire businessman Jeff Bezos.

EXPLOSION DURING TEST IN FLORIDA

A violent explosion occurred for reasons yet to be determined during a test conducted at night at the launch pad at Cape Canaveral Space Force Station in the US state of Florida.

It was reported that there were no casualties or injuries in the incident. The explosion caused brief panic in the surrounding residential areas.

 

STATEMENT FROM JEFF BEZOS

In a statement following the accident, Jeff Bezos stated that all personnel were safe, saying, "It is too early to know the exact cause of the explosion, but we are already working on it. It is a difficult day for us. We will do whatever it takes and return to flight. It is worth it."

GET WELL SOON MESSAGE FROM ELON MUSK

SpaceX CEO Elon Musk, a rival of Blue Origin, also posted a get-well-soon message on social media. In his statement, Musk said, "I am sorry to hear about the accident. I hope you recover as soon as possible."
