Frightening fire at LPG filling facility in Iran: 9 injured

A fire broke out at an LPG filling workshop in the Iranian city of Shiraz. Explosions that occurred during the fire were captured on camera. Shiraz Fire Chief Hadi Eydipur stated regarding the incident, "A large-scale fire broke out at 18:01 local time in a 1,000-square-meter workshop where LPG filling and sales are conducted in the Javadiyeh Industrial Estate. 9 people were injured in the incident. While 7 of the injured were treated on-site, 2 people were transported to the hospital."

Emphasizing that the operation carried a high risk, Eydipur said, "Upon receiving the report, numerous teams were dispatched to the scene, and the fire was intervened in from three different points with a total of 11 fire trucks. Our teams quickly intervened in the 50 and 60-kilogram LPG cylinders and picnic gas canisters using high-pressure water lines and monitors. Due to the explosions caused by the fire, some cylinders were launched up to 300 meters, but a major disaster was prevented by stopping the flames from spreading to the workshop and surrounding houses."

Eydipur stated that technical investigations into the cause of the fire are ongoing and that expert teams have launched a detailed study in the area following the incident.
