Funeral ceremony for 165 children killed in Israeli and US attacks

A funeral ceremony is being held today for the children who lost their lives in an attack on the Shajareh Tayyebeh girls' primary school in the city of Minab, located in southern Iran. According to official information shared by Iranian state media, the school was targeted during the initial attacks that began on February 28.

According to the figures released, at least 165 girls lost their lives in the attack, and approximately 96 people were injured.

TEARS AT THE FUNERAL CEREMONY

At the ceremony held in Minab, families who lost their children were seen carrying the coffins on their shoulders. Politicians, parents, and a large number of citizens attended the ceremony. During the funeral program, accompanied by the crowd, prayers were said for the children who were lost, and the attack was condemned.

CALL TO THE INTERNATIONAL COMMUNITY FROM ARAQCHI

Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araqchi described the attack as an "unacceptable crime against innocent children" in a statement made via social media. Araqchi called on the international community and invited the United Nations Security Council to take action.

Iranian officials, while blaming Israel for the attack, emphasized that targeting civilian settlements, and schools in particular, is a violation of international law.

Reactions to the attack continue within the international community as well. UNESCO reminded that schools must be protected and stated that such attacks constitute a violation of international humanitarian law.
