Assad regime has fallen, mysterious prisoners captured on camera at Sednaya Prison!

The Bashar al-Assad regime in Syria was officially toppled yesterday as opposition forces entered Damascus. The 61-year-old Baath regime collapsed after a 12-day operation, while the ousted leader Assad and his family fled to Russia.

Following the opposition's seizure of the capital, Damascus, Sednaya Prison—synonymous with the regime and known for its torture—was raided and the prisoners were released.

The liberation of political prisoners who had been held for decades under severe torture and poor conditions became one of the clearest images of the regime's collapse, while the emerging 'cellar' detail created a stir worldwide.

Prisoners who appeared on the prison's security cameras and remain unreachable have been captured on footage.

Meanwhile, the organization also known as the Syria Civil Defence (White Helmets) reported that search operations have been underway at Sednaya Prison for hours, and that there are concerns that some detainees are still being held in underground cells known as the Red Wing.

In a statement on Telegram, the White Helmets stated that their teams had "opened several areas inside the prison" but "had not found anything yet," adding that they would continue to provide updates as the team continues its search efforts.
