Gaza crisis to be on the table in Trump and Netanyahu meeting

U.S. President Donald Trump is preparing to meet with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu at the White House on July 7. The two leaders are expected to address the current situation in Gaza. Trump stated that he hopes the conflict in Gaza will end soon and called on the parties to reach an agreement.

Following Trump's social media call, "Get the deal done in Gaza, bring the hostages back!", at least 60 Palestinians lost their lives in Israeli airstrikes on northern Gaza. The Israeli military confirmed that fire was opened on civilians at humanitarian aid points and announced that its soldiers would be briefed to rectify this situation.

The meeting will also cover topics such as peace talks with Syria and Lebanon, and the potential inclusion of these countries in the Abraham Accords in exchange for Israel's annexation of the Golan Heights. However, Israeli diplomats state that this process could take many years.

Trump's spokesperson Karoline Leavitt announced that Netanyahu's chief advisor Ron Dermer is holding talks in Washington. Leavitt stated that the images coming from Gaza and Israel are heartbreaking.

While more than 50 thousand Palestinians have lost their lives according to official figures as a result of Israel's attacks, it was emphasized that the priority goal for Trump is the safe return of the hostages.
