Gaza diplomacy from Iran and Egypt
Iranian Foreign Minister Hossein Amir-Abdollahian and Egyptian Foreign Minister Sameh Shoukry discussed the ongoing humanitarian crisis in Palestine.
According to the official Iranian news agency IRNA, Abdollahian and his Egyptian counterpart Shoukry held a phone conversation.
Abdollahian stated that “it is important to continue consultations between the two countries regarding ways to end the current crisis in Palestine and Israel’s brutal attacks on civilians in Gaza and the West Bank.”
EMPHASIS ON CONSULTATION
Touching upon the importance of the extraordinary meeting of the leaders of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation to be held in Riyadh on November 12 to discuss Israel's attacks on the blockaded Gaza Strip, Abdollahian expressed their readiness to continue joint consultations between Tehran and Cairo.
Abdollahian said that the Iranian Red Crescent is ready to send humanitarian aid to Gaza via Egypt.
Egyptian Foreign Minister Shoukry also mentioned his country's steps toward delivering international humanitarian aid to the people of Gaza and stated that he appreciates the positions and efforts of Arab and Islamic countries, as well as Iran, on this issue.
Shoukry emphasized that bilateral and multilateral consultations must continue to achieve a ceasefire in Gaza, stop the war, and send humanitarian aid to the people of Gaza.
