Germany issues 'leave Lebanon' call
The German Foreign Ministry has called on its citizens to leave Lebanon following the assassination of Hamas Political Bureau Deputy Chairman Saleh al-Arouri.
Germany has taken action following the assassination of Hamas Political Bureau Deputy Chairman Saleh al-Arouri in the Lebanese capital, Beirut, yesterday.
The German Foreign Ministry warned that the conflict between Israel and Palestine could expand due to the assassination and called on its citizens to leave Lebanon immediately.
URGED TO LEAVE AS SOON AS POSSIBLE
The ministry stated, "All German citizens currently in Lebanon are requested to register on the ELEFAND crisis preparedness list and to leave the country as soon as possible.
Especially considering the killing of Hamas's number two, Saleh al-Arouri, in Beirut on Tuesday, it cannot be ruled out that the situation could deteriorate further and the conflict could expand.
This situation applies particularly to the southern part of Lebanon, including the southern districts of Beirut," it said.
