Google fined $38,000 in Russia: Failing to block prohibited content
Russia has fined Google 3.8 million rubles (approximately $38,000) for failing to block access to prohibited content. The decision was made in a court in Moscow.
The case against Google was heard in the capital, Moscow. The court, having concluded that laws were not being followed because access to certain prohibited content on the platform was not blocked, ordered Google to pay a fine of 3.8 million rubles.
Various foreign platforms such as Apple, TikTok, and Telegram have also previously been fined in the country for similar reasons.
