Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan held a phone call with US Secretary of State Antony Blinken.

MANY TOPICS DISCUSSED

According to information obtained from foreign ministry officials, the meeting took place at the request of the other party. During the call, regional and global issues were addressed in addition to bilateral relations between the US and Turkey. Emphasizing the importance of acting in accordance with the spirit of alliance in relations, the meeting also covered Sweden's NATO membership, the F-16 issue, and cooperation in the defense industry.

ISRAEL-PALESTINE AGENDA DISCUSSED

The Israel-Palestine tension was also a focus of the meeting. It was noted that Foreign Minister Fidan, drawing attention to the worsening situation in Gaza and the West Bank, called on the US to use its influence over Israel to stop the attacks. He further emphasized that after a full ceasefire is achieved, Israel must be brought to the table to initiate a political process aimed at implementing a fair and lasting peace based on a two-state solution.
