Hamas accepts Trump's ceasefire proposal for Gaza

A new development has occurred in the ceasefire negotiations for the Gaza Strip, where Israel has carried out intense attacks that have resulted in the deaths of 57,575 Palestinians.

Hamas official Taher al-Nunu announced that the group has accepted the 60-day ceasefire proposal, which US President Donald Trump stated on July 2 that Israel had also accepted. Al-Nunu said that Hamas is ready to release 10 hostages in order to ensure the uninterrupted flow of urgently needed aid into the Gaza Strip and to stop Israeli attacks.

The Hamas official said, "The necessary flexibility has been shown to protect our people, stop the crime of genocide, and allow the free and dignified entry and flow of aid until the war ends completely."

Al-Nunu stated that negotiations are continuing on two key issues; one is ensuring the uninterrupted entry of aid, and the other is the "mechanisms" aimed at the forced displacement of Palestinians. The Hamas official expressed that the withdrawal boundaries for Israeli soldiers in the first phase of the ceasefire must be determined in a way that does not affect the lives of Palestinians and "paves the way for the second phase of negotiations."
