Hamas announces end of ceasefire talks

Hamas (Islamic Resistance Movement) has announced that the ceasefire and prisoner exchange negotiations for Gaza, which had been ongoing for two days in the Egyptian capital Cairo, have concluded.

In a written statement, it was stated, "The negotiations in Cairo have ended. The Hamas delegation will leave the city to consult with the movement's leadership."

The written statement issued by Hamas is as follows:

The diplomatic negotiations ongoing in Cairo have concluded a short while ago. The Islamic Resistance Movement's negotiating delegation will depart Cairo tonight and head to Doha to evaluate the latest developments with the Movement's authorized bodies.

The negotiating delegation has conveyed the Movement's response to the mediators in Egypt and Qatar and held in-depth and serious discussions with them.

The Movement has approached the negotiations positively and with a sense of responsibility, confirming its desire and determination to reach an agreement that will meet our people's national demands, completely end the attacks, ensure the withdrawal of occupying soldiers from the entire Gaza Strip, guarantee the unconditional return of displaced persons to their homes, ensure the passage of sufficient humanitarian aid, initiate the reconstruction of Gaza, and guarantee a genuine prisoner exchange deal.
