In a statement regarding the ceasefire negotiations held yesterday in Cairo, the capital of Egypt, Hamas said, "If the enemy stops imposing new conditions, the possibility of reaching an agreement is closer than ever."
Ceasefire negotiations between Israeli and Palestinian delegations are ongoing.
Hamas issued a statement regarding the meeting held between the two delegations yesterday in Cairo, the capital of Egypt.
The statement noted that "if the enemy stops imposing new conditions, the possibility of reaching an agreement is closer than ever," while emphasizing that everyone is eager for the aggression against Palestinians to be halted.
HAMAS WANTS A PERMANENT CEASEFIRE
Speaking to the Israeli press, an Arab diplomat stated that the nature of the ceasefire agreement is the main point of contention in the talks, noting that Hamas is demanding a permanent end to the hostilities, while Israel wants a temporary pause during which some hostages would be released, followed by a resumption of fighting to complete the elimination of the terrorist organization's military and governing capabilities.
