Hamas: Netanyahu wants to sacrifice the hostages

Hamas has reacted to the statement made by Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu regarding his intention to occupy the entire Gaza Strip. Hamas stated, "Netanyahu's statements are a clear blow to the negotiation process and clearly reveal the real reasons behind his withdrawal from the table in the last round, despite us being close to a final agreement."

Stating that Netanyahu's plan to occupy the entirety of Gaza serves his personal interests and extremist ideological agenda, Hamas said, "Netanyahu's plans to expand the occupation confirm beyond any doubt that he aims to get rid of the hostages by sacrificing them."

Emphasizing that they will continue to resist the occupation of Gaza and attempts to establish guardianship over it, Hamas stated that the cost of said occupation for Israel would be high, and characterized the Israeli army as a "Nazi army."

Calling on Arab and Islamic countries to condemn Netanyahu's statements and to take urgent action to stop the aggression and end the occupation, Hamas said, "We call on the international community to ensure our people can exercise their right to self-determination and to hold enemy leaders accountable for their ongoing crimes against the Palestinian people in the Gaza Strip."

OCCUPATION STATEMENT

In an interview with the US press, when asked whether Israel had a plan to occupy the entire Gaza Strip, Netanyahu had expressed that Israel intended to occupy the entire Gaza Strip. Netanyahu said, "That is our intention. We don't want to hold it. We want to have a security perimeter. We don't want to govern it. We don't want to be there as a governing body."

Claiming that they would hand over Gaza to Arab forces after the occupation, Netanyahu had used the expressions, "We want to hand it over to Arab forces that will govern it properly without threatening us and offer a good life to Gazans."

On the other hand, the Israeli army, which currently occupies approximately 75 percent of the Gaza Strip, had stated many times that it was against the total occupation of Gaza.
