Hamas responds to request for talks on ceasefire agreement

As Israel's attacks on the Gaza Strip continue for the 389th day, efforts to revive negotiations for a ceasefire agreement in the Gaza Strip are ongoing.

Senior Hamas official Sami Abu Zuhri stated in a statement that Hamas is open to discussing an agreement that would end the attacks on the Gaza Strip and ensure the complete withdrawal of the Israeli army, announcing that they have responded to the mediators' request to discuss proposals regarding a ceasefire agreement.

Zuhri said, “The group is open to any proposal that will end the aggression against the Gaza Strip, any agreement that will put an end to the suffering of our people and lead to a permanent ceasefire. Israeli forces have deliberately destroyed medical infrastructure and civil defense resources in Gaza. Hamas has called on countries that have normalized relations with Israel to immediately sever their bilateral ties.”
