Hamas statement on 'war': Netanyahu is prolonging the process

Hamdan made statements regarding the "ceasefire and prisoner exchange deal" rejected by Israel and developments in the Gaza Strip during a press conference held at the Hamas office in Beirut, the capital of Lebanon.

"THEY WITHDREW FROM THE AGREEMENT"

Stating that Israel's own representatives participated in and approved the "agreement" talks held in Paris for a full and final ceasefire and a comprehensive prisoner exchange in the Gaza Strip, mediated by Qatar and Egypt, Hamdan said, "We saw from the response given by the occupation (Israel) that they withdrew from the Paris agreement and placed conditions and obstacles in the way of reaching an agreement that would ensure an end to the attacks on our people."

Touching partially on the content of Israel's response to the Paris agreement proposal, Hamdan said, "It does not provide guarantees for the free movement of people in the Gaza Strip, the return of displaced persons to their homes, or the complete withdrawal of occupation forces from the Gaza Strip. At the same time, looking at what the occupiers proposed for the prisoner exchange, it is clear that they are not serious about reaching an agreement."

"HE IS PROLONGING THE WAR TO GAIN TIME"

Addressing Netanyahu's policy in the ongoing war on Gaza, Hamdan said, "Netanyahu's behavior and stance confirm that he is prolonging the war to gain time for his calculations regarding his political future, refusing to agree to any deal, and implementing a policy of evasion."

Hamdan noted that Hamas maintains its current position regarding a possible ceasefire and prisoner exchange and still desires to reach an agreement to stop the attacks on the Palestinian people.
