Harris calls on Israel regarding Gaza: 'End the war'

12PUNTO FOREIGN NEWS

Democratic Party presidential nominee in the US, Kamala Harris, called for an end to the Israel-Hamas war in the Gaza Strip in a statement on Tuesday, noting that Israel should not reoccupy Palestinian territories once the conflict, which has been ongoing for nearly a year, comes to an end.

In an interview, US Vice President Harris stated, 'We have made it very clear that this deal needs to be done in the best interests of everyone in the region.'

Harris answered questions from journalists from TheGrio, Politico, and WHYY-FM on Tuesday.

Harris said, 'This exhausting war is based on very old things that are harmful, hateful, and that we should not tolerate.'

The Gaza Ministry of Health had announced that at least 41,252 people have been killed and 95,497 people have been injured in Israeli attacks in Gaza since October 7.

Expressing that 'the war must now be ended,' Harris also delivered a message regarding the future of Gaza.

The US presidential candidate underscored that 'Israel must withdraw from the territories it has occupied.'

An election poll by the Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR), released in recent days, revealed that support for Harris among Muslim voters in the US has declined.

It was understood that Harris has lost a significant amount of votes to Green Party presidential candidate Jill Stein in states where the election is expected to be close.

The Democratic candidate's remarks on Gaza came following this poll.
