In his post, Musk stated, "As my scheduled time as a Special Government Employee comes to an end, I would like to thank President Donald Trump for the opportunity to reduce wasteful spending."
White House officials also confirmed that Elon Musk has concluded his role within the cabinet.
NO FINAL MEETING WITH TRUMP
According to information in the American press, Musk did not hold any official meeting with President Trump before his term ended.
When he began his role, he held the status of "Special Government Employee." Under US law, the annual service period for individuals serving in this status is limited to a maximum of 130 days.
Musk's term in this position began after Trump's presidential inauguration and was officially set to end tomorrow.
