He announced the Gaza Plan: Trump's remarkable remarks on Erdoğan and Hamas

US President Donald Trump made assessments regarding the agenda at a signing ceremony held at the White House. Referring to the Gaza Plan, which aims for lasting peace in the Gaza Strip, Trump stated that all countries involved in the process are making intense efforts and that Israel is also displaying a positive attitude.

Emphasizing that he has certain red lines, Trump said regarding a potential agreement, "If certain conditions are not met, we will not do it." However, stating that he is generally pleased with the progress of the process, Trump said, "But I think we are doing very well and I think Hamas has reached an agreement on very important issues."

Recalling the second anniversary of October 7, Trump responded to a question about whether a definitive agreement would be reached, saying, "I think we will reach an agreement. It is difficult for me to say this definitively because it is a subject they have been trying to reach an agreement on for years. However, we will reach a Gaza Agreement, I am quite sure of that."

"I THINK WE HAVE MADE GREAT PROGRESS"

Trump reiterated his optimism about the process, saying that a "wonderful" team from the US is participating in the ongoing negotiations. "I think we have made great progress. The people of Israel wanted this (the agreement) to happen, especially those concerned with the hostages. You see that tens of thousands of people in Israel really want the hostages to return and for everything to end," he said.

Pointing out that Hamas is also displaying a positive attitude, Trump said, "They are doing quite well. I hope it continues this way. I also believe it will continue. I truly believe we will reach an agreement. We have a very high chance of making a real deal and this will be a lasting agreement. We want peace. This is beyond just the Gaza issue. Gaza is a big issue, but this means real peace in the Middle East."

"ERDOĞAN IS MAKING VERY INTENSE EFFORTS"

Trump stated that Muslim and Arab countries, including Turkey, are contributing to the peace process. "I spoke with Turkish President (Recep Tayyip) Erdoğan. He is a wonderful person. He is making very intense efforts to ensure this agreement is reached. He is a very strong person and he is really working hard to make this deal happen. And Hamas has great respect for him," he said.

Expressing that Hamas also respects Qatar, the United Arab Emirates, and Saudi Arabia, Trump said, "Everyone is on our side regarding the realization of the agreement. Nothing like this has ever been seen before. Usually, 80 percent of countries would not want certain things to happen. But I think this time, as you know, we even received a strong signal from Iran. They also want this to happen."

TRUMP ACCUSES GRETA THUNBERG OF BEING A "TROUBLEMAKER"

Trump also responded to a question regarding the detention and deportation of activists, including Greta Thunberg, during Israel's raid on the Global Sumud Flotilla. Using the description "just a troublemaker" for Thunberg, Trump said, "I mean, she is no longer interested in the environment, now she is dealing with this business. She is a troublemaker. She has an anger management problem. I think she should see a doctor. She needs to control her anger. If you have watched her, she is a young person, but she is so angry, so crazy," he said.
