He was going to come to Turkey: Putin's visit postponed
Due to the election calendars in Turkey and Russia, Russian leader Putin's visit to Turkey has been postponed to a later date.
Russian President Vladimir Putin was planning to pay a visit to Turkey.
Reuters news agency, citing Russian media, reported that the visit is now planned to take place no earlier than the end of April or the beginning of May.
It had previously been stated that the visit would take place on April 12. If he comes to Turkey, it will be the first time Putin has set foot in a NATO member country since the beginning of the war in Ukraine. Kremlin Spokesperson Dmitry Peskov had stated that the visit would be important for discussing both bilateral and regional issues.
GRAIN INITIATIVE TO BE DISCUSSED
Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan also said in a statement in Valletta, the capital of Malta, that President Erdoğan and his Russian counterpart Putin would discuss the war in Ukraine and the Black Sea Grain Initiative in Ankara.
Minister Fidan said that since Moscow withdrew from the agreement in July 2023, Turkey has been working with Ukraine and Russia to revive the Black Sea Grain Initiative, which was mediated by the United Nations and Ankara.
