Her ex-husband had died by suicide... Norwegian Princess Martha Louise remarries

Princess Martha Louise, the eldest child of the King of Norway, has married American shaman Durek Verrett following three days of festivities.

The couple's wedding took place in Geiranger, one of the country's major tourist destinations. In addition to royals from Sweden and Norway, the wedding was attended by friends, social media influencers, and various celebrities.

The outdoor wedding was not broadcast on television, unlike the princess's first marriage in 2002.

SHE HAD RESIGNED FROM ROYAL DUTIES

Martha Louise, the daughter of King Harald and Queen Sonja, resigned from her official royal duties in 2022 to pursue her own commercial ventures more freely.

However, at a media event held in June, the couple introduced a beverage with their names on the back of the bottle for their wedding. The couple faced criticism from the Royal Palace and members of parliament for "associating Martha Louise's royal status with commercial activities." 

Norwegian health authorities decided this week that the marketing of the drink was inappropriate. Meanwhile, the couple sold the wedding photo rights to the celebrity magazine Hello! and the film rights to Netflix. The agreement made with the two media organizations became a target of the Norwegian press, with accusations that it violated local practices.

Verrett, 47, who has faced various criticisms and is the author of a book titled "Spirit Hacking" in which he claims that cancer is a choice, introduces himself as a "spiritual guru."

HER EX-HUSBAND HAD DIED BY SUICIDE

Verrett also claims that he "communicates with a wide variety of spirits" and "possesses a medallion that helps prevent spells and heal illnesses." Verrett has argued that he is the last shaman of six generations and once claimed to have died for four minutes and 25 seconds, stating, "I received all the information from the other side. I came back."

The princess also faced backlash when she announced that she had opened a school where she could teach people how to "speak with angels," a claim she has made herself.

Martha Louise's first marriage to Norwegian author Ari Behn, with whom she had three children, ended in divorce in 2017. Behn, who suffered from mental health issues, died by suicide in 2019.
