High-level security measures have been implemented at polling and counting stations in the US to ensure election security.

According to a report by The Washington Post, local authorities across the country have taken strict precautions ahead of the presidential election. Within this scope, security cameras have been installed around polling stations and vote-counting centers, while snipers have been deployed on the roofs of these facilities.

Across the country, additional police units have been dispatched to the streets, and surveillance has been tightened with the use of drones.

It was announced that National Guard troops are on standby in Washington and Nevada states in case of any potential unrest.

"Panic buttons" have been installed in voting booths, elevating ballot security to the highest level.

THE JANUARY 6, 2021 CAPITOL RIOT

In the US, far-right groups and supporters of former President Donald Trump stormed the Capitol building on January 6, 2021, where the session to certify the results of the November 3, 2020 presidential election was being held.

Five people, including one police officer, lost their lives in the raid. Trump, who was tried for impeachment on charges of inciting the public to insurrection due to the raid, was acquitted in the Senate vote in February 2021.
