In the US, Republican candidate Donald Trump said that he is leading his rival, Democratic candidate Kamala Harris, in all of the swing states that will determine the fate of the election, and that the winner will be known on election night.

In a statement to ABC News, Trump made assessments regarding the presidential election to be held on November 5.

Regarding tomorrow's election, where the 60th president of the US will be determined, Trump said, "I guess you could lose. I mean, things happen, right?"

Donald Trump claimed that he is ahead of his rival Harris in the swing states and stated that election day will be interesting.

Republican candidate Trump expressed that the winner will be known on election night and that he will make his speech regarding the election results at the "right time."

WHAT IS A SWING STATE?

In 43 of the 50 states in the country, the same party almost always wins by a significant margin in every election.

The 7 critical states, called "swing states" because they can change hands between parties by a small margin of votes, have the characteristic of determining the arithmetic of US presidential elections.

Arizona, Nevada, Wisconsin, Michigan, Pennsylvania, North Carolina, and Georgia, which account for 93 of the 270 electoral votes needed to win the 2024 election, are in the "swing state" position.

The person who wins the presidential election to be held on November 5 will take the presidential seat with the inauguration ceremony to be held on January 20, 2025.
