Hostage alarm at a hospital in Germany
A large number of police teams have been dispatched to a hospital in the German city of Aachen following reports that an armed individual has taken several people hostage.
Security forces have taken action following reports that an armed individual has taken several people hostage at the Luisen Hospital in the German city of Aachen.
A large number of police and fire department teams have been dispatched to the scene.
AN ARMED WOMAN
In a statement issued by the Aachen police, it was stated, "Police and fire services are currently on duty at the Luisen Hospital in Aachen. There are currently indications of a potential threat.
The area around the hospital has been cordoned off. The police are asking you to stay away from this area."
Some reports in the German press have alleged that an armed woman has locked herself in a room at the hospital.
