Identities of 2 people who died on 9/11 in the US identified 22 years later

According to a report by SKY News, New York City officials announced that the identities of a man and a woman who died in the attack have been confirmed.

The remains of the two individuals, identified two days before the 22nd anniversary of the largest terrorist attack in the country's history, which caused the deaths of approximately 3,000 people, have been returned to their families.

The city's chief medical examiner, Dr. Jason Graham, stated that they remain committed to fulfilling their "solemn pledge" to return the remains.

Graham remarked, "Faced with the largest and most complex forensic investigation in the history of our country, we remain unwavering in our mission to use the latest advances in science to fulfill this promise."

To date, the identities of 1,649 people who lost their lives in the attack have been confirmed through DNA testing.

Meanwhile, it is noted that there are more than 1,000 victims who died in the attack whose identities have not yet been determined, and their remains are kept at the National September 11 Memorial & Museum at the World Trade Center.

While most of the lawsuits filed by the relatives of those who lost their lives and the victims of the terrorist attacks carried out in the US on September 11, 2001, remain unresolved, many questions regarding the attacks are still awaiting answers.
