International organizations in Gaza: Some countries providing aid by air are also supplying weapons to Israel

Amnesty International has published a joint statement from 25 international organizations operating in Gaza.

The joint statement noted that it is not possible for states to hide behind airdrops and efforts to open maritime corridors to create the illusion that they are doing enough to meet the needs in Gaza.

The statement, which noted that airdrop operations do not meet the massive needs in the Gaza Strip, underscored that it is impossible to provide treatment and food for 2 million 300 thousand people who are in the midst of a total catastrophe in this manner.

The statement included the following remarks:

"Some countries, such as the US, the UK, and France, which are conducting airdrops, are also supplying weapons to Israel. These countries must stop arms transfers, implement necessary measures for an immediate ceasefire, ensure the unconditional delivery of aid, and hold those responsible accountable."

The statement noted that states cannot use aid to evade their responsibilities and duties under international law, including the prevention of atrocity crimes, and emphasized that the primary responsibility of these countries is to prevent atrocity crimes, exert political pressure to end the continuous bombardment of the Gaza Strip, and remove obstacles to humanitarian aid.
