Iran conveys ceasefire terms, receives harsh response from US! 'Unrealistic demands'
Iran has presented the US with comprehensive demands for a potential ceasefire, ranging from the closure of bases in the Gulf to the lifting of sanctions. Washington, however, has dismissed these conditions as "unrealistic and unimplementable demands."
As attacks by the US and Israel against Iran continue, Iranian officials have conveyed their conditions for potential ceasefire talks to Washington. According to reports in the US press, the Iranian Revolutionary Guard is demanding the closure of all US bases in the Gulf region and the payment of compensation for previous attacks.
CONDITIONS PUT FORWARD FOR A CEASEFIRE
According to information reported by The Wall Street Journal, the Tehran administration's demands are not limited to these. Iran wants a new status established in the Strait of Hormuz and the ability to collect fees from ships passing through it. Additionally, demands include guarantees that the war will not restart and that Israel must halt its operations against Hezbollah.
Furthermore, Iran is conditioning any agreement on the lifting of all sanctions imposed upon it and the imposition of no restrictions on its missile program.
HARSH RESPONSE FROM WASHINGTON
The US administration, for its part, views these demands as "unrealistic and unimplementable." According to experts, this rigid stance from both sides makes it difficult for regional tensions to de-escalate in the short term.
Analysts point out that while there is a possibility of indirect contact between Iran and the US, a lasting ceasefire does not appear possible without reaching a consensus on fundamental issues.
