The military stated that sirens have been activated in various regions in northern Israel, adding, "The air force is working to intercept and strike wherever necessary to eliminate the threat. Defense is not completely foolproof, and therefore the instructions of the Home Front Command must continue to be followed."
The military stated in initial assessments that a small number of missiles were fired from Iran toward Israel. Israel's National Emergency Service, Magen David Adom (MDA), announced that no loss of life or injuries have been reported in Iran's latest ballistic missile attack on Israel.
IRANIAN PRESIDENT PEZESHKIAN: WE WILL RESPOND TO ANY ATTACK AT THE SAME LEVEL
Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian said that they do not want the war to escalate but that they will respond to Israel's attacks at the same level.
In a message shared on his X account, Pezeshkian provided information regarding the content of his phone call with President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan.
Stating that he informed Erdoğan that they did not start the war but would respond to Israel's attacks at the same level, Pezeshkian said, "We do not want to escalate the war, but we will give a regrettable response to any aggression against Iran."
THE CONFLICT BETWEEN THE TWO COUNTRIES
On June 13, Israel carried out large-scale attacks targeting Iran's military high command, primarily nuclear facilities in various cities.
While the Iranian Chief of General Staff, the Commander-in-Chief of the Revolutionary Guards, several high-ranking commanders, and 9 nuclear scientists lost their lives in the attacks, the total civilian death toll was announced as 224.
In the Iranian military's retaliation against Israel with ballistic missiles, it was reported that 24 people were killed and more than 500 people were injured.
Many countries, led by Turkey, condemned Israel.
