Iran lists its conditions for Hormuz!

Iran is entering a new era in the Strait of Hormuz, which is of critical importance for the global energy supply. Authorities announced that they will limit the number of ships passing through the strait to approximately 15 per day. With this decision, the paid transit period, which will be implemented under the supervision of the Revolutionary Guards, officially begins.

The Tehran administration has informed mediators that the new practice will begin within the framework of the ceasefire reached with the US. Commercial ships wishing to use this route will now be required to pay the fee determined by Iran.

It will be a condition that fees be paid in Chinese yuan or cryptocurrencies instead of the US dollar. Experts point out that this system could weaken the influence of the US dollar in global energy markets.

According to the new practice, all ships wishing to pass through the strait will need to coordinate with the Iranian Revolutionary Guards, which are on the terrorist organization lists of the US and the European Union. While it is known that over 100 ships passed through this route daily before the war, it is reported that this number has recently dropped to four. With the restrictions, countries producing energy in the Gulf, in particular, are concerned that their export channels are coming entirely under Iranian control.

With the start of the two-week ceasefire period, it is observed that Iran's military and economic influence in the region is becoming even more permanent.

Former Israeli defense intelligence official Danny Citrinowicz stated in his assessment, "The Strait of Hormuz has definitely become as important for Iran as its missiles and nuclear program, and for them, establishing control at this point is now an unavoidable necessity."

Ship operators in the region, in addition to paying the pre-determined fees in yuan or cryptocurrency, will have to constantly share information with the Revolutionary Guards. The Iranian navy continues to warn in its radio announcements that serious sanctions will be applied against unauthorized attempts, and that ships could even be destroyed.
