Iran reportedly abandoned plan to break ceasefire following message from Pakistan: US to take control
Iranian Deputy Foreign Minister Saeed Khatibzadeh described the critical process following Israel's attacks on Lebanon. Khatibzadeh revealed that Iran was on the verge of retaliating, but the situation changed after Pakistan intervened.
As tensions in the Middle East escalate once again, an important statement has come from Iran.
Iranian Deputy Foreign Minister Saeed Khatibzadeh stated that Iran had decided to respond after Israel violated the ceasefire.
Explaining that Pakistan intervened with the message that "the US will bring Israel under control," Khatibzadeh emphasized that the coming hours are critical ahead of the talks in Islamabad.
Following the ceasefire reached between the US and Iran, a notable statement was made by Iran ahead of the talks to be held in Islamabad, the capital of Pakistan.
Iranian Deputy Foreign Minister Saeed Khatibzadeh stated that yesterday was quite critical for Tehran following Israel's attacks on Lebanon, saying, "We had no choice but to respond to these attacks, and Iran was on the verge of responding to the ceasefire violation last night. However, Pakistan intervened and conveyed messages that the US would bring Israel under control."
"WE HOPE FOR LASTING PEACE"
Khatibzadeh said, "The Iranian delegation will set off to attend the talks. The program and agenda we are working on are in this direction. As far as we understand, the US side is also acting in the same direction.
For this reason, we hope to come together in Pakistan soon and reach a consensus that will ensure lasting peace in the Middle East. However, the US must stop Israel's attacks on Lebanon as per its commitment. Any peace in the region must also include Lebanon. Therefore, the coming hours are extremely critical. We hope that the US can control its ally and that this time it will remain loyal to its word and adhere to the agreed-upon points."
