Iran's Revolutionary Guard bans communication devices following Israeli attacks
The Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps has increased security measures by banning the use of communication devices following Israel's attacks on Hezbollah's communication equipment in Lebanon. Iranian security sources reported that the military has switched to encrypted messaging methods and is examining the devices targeted in the attacks.
According to Iranian security sources, the Revolutionary Guard has reviewed its existing communication networks to enhance communication security following the attacks carried out by Israel in Lebanon. Two senior officials, who requested anonymity, stated that the military has banned the use of communication devices.
COMMUNICATION SECURITY
It is reported that the Revolutionary Guard is currently using encrypted messaging applications. Officials stated that some of the pagers targeted by Israel were brought to Tehran and are undergoing detailed examination by Iranian technical teams. It was emphasized that this examination is a preventive step to ensure a similar attack does not occur in Iran.
CONCERNS OVER NUCLEAR FACILITIES AND MISSILE PROGRAM
Among Iran's primary concerns are potential acts of sabotage against its underground nuclear facilities and missile program. For this reason, it is noted that special importance is being placed on communication security.
DOMESTICALLY PRODUCED RADIOS
Iran primarily uses its own domestically produced wireless radios for communication. Although no official statement has been made by authorities yet, it is stated that the Iranian armed forces are attempting to maintain their communication network with devices produced by their own defense industry to avoid dependence on foreign sources due to sanctions from Western countries. In recent years, it has been noted that the Iranian military has also procured communication devices from Russia and China.
Israel's attacks have caused Iran to review its communication strategy and increase its security measures. The measures taken by the Revolutionary Guard indicate that geopolitical tensions in the region may escalate further.
