Iranian Foreign Minister Abdollahian makes statement on attack and self-defense

Stating that their country has made decisions in line with its national interests and security regarding Israel and will not take a step back, Abdollahian said, "We exercised our right to legitimate self-defense, and our attack has ended."

Touching upon Israel's attack targeting the Iranian Consulate in Damascus, the capital of Syria, Abdollahian said, "By targeting our consulate building, Israel has clearly violated international conventions.

However, due to the completely irresponsible behavior of the US, the UK, and France, the UN was unable to even condemn this attack.

No state would remain silent in the face of such a reckless attack on its embassy, which represents the sovereignty of its country," he stated.

"THE ATTACK WE CARRIED OUT WAS NECESSARY"

Noting that Iran has tried to remain calm in the face of Israeli attacks until now, Abdollahian said that the consulate attack crossed a red line and that the Tehran administration could no longer remain silent in the face of the attack in question.

Abdullahian said, "The attack we carried out on April 13 was necessary. Because we had no other option but this attack.

Our attack was carried out entirely as a retaliation for the consulate attack, and no civilian settlements were targeted. In the attack, two important military facilities of Israel that targeted our consulate building were hit," he said.

"WE WILL RESPOND SEVERELY"

Stating that their country has made decisions in line with its national interests and security regarding Israel and will not take a step back, Abdollahian said, "Against any attack or action by the Israeli regime against Iran's interests, we will respond to the regime in the harshest, most unexpected, and severe manner."

Abdollahian said, "We exercised our right to legitimate self-defense, and our attack has ended.

Now it is the Israeli regime that must be careful not to target Iran's national interests and territory. It must stay away from such adventures against Iran. We are not joking when it comes to protecting our country's security and interests," he stated.
