Iranian Foreign Minister Araghchi meets with Assad in Damascus
Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi held official talks with Syrian President Bashar al-Assad. Araghchi stated that Iran fully supports Syria in its fight against terrorism and in matters of regional security, adding that he believes Syria will emerge victorious once again against the U.S.'s plan to create chaos in the region. Assad thanked Iran for its support.
As the advance of groups opposed to the Assad regime continues in Syria, Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi arrived in the Syrian capital, Damascus, for official talks. Araghchi met with Syrian President Bashar al-Assad.
During the meeting, Araghchi stated that Iran provides full support to the Syrian people and army in the fight against terrorism and in maintaining regional security and stability. He noted that the events unfolding in Syria are part of a U.S. plan to drag the region into chaos, adding, "Just as in the past, Syria will once again be the winning side."

Stating that supporting the Syrian army and state is a strategic policy for Iran, Araghchi emphasized that this support will continue. He described this strategic approach as a step aimed at ensuring lasting stability and security in the region and supporting the security of all countries in the region.
Assad, for his part, thanked Iran for its support and expressed that he found Araghchi's visit to Syria during such a sensitive period to be highly significant.
