Iranian Parliament Speaker Ghalibaf takes a jab at Trump over '3 days' remark
Iranian Parliament Speaker Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf responded to US President Donald Trump's "3 days" remark regarding Iran's oil infrastructure, stating, "Three days have passed, and not a single well has exploded. We can extend this to 30 days and broadcast the well live here."
Iranian Parliament Speaker Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf gave a sarcastic response on his social media account to US President Donald Trump's statement that Iran's oil infrastructure had "about 3 days left before it blows up." In his post, Ghalibaf said, "Three days have passed, and not a single well has exploded. We can extend this to 30 days and broadcast the well live here."
Referring to US Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent's assessments regarding the blockade, Ghalibaf added, "This is the kind of nonsense the US administration gets from advice like that of Bessent, who defends blockade theory and pushes oil prices above 120 dollars. Next stop: 140 dollars. The problem is not in the theory, but in the mindset."
Trump's "3 days" remark
In a statement on April 26, US President Trump claimed that the blockade enforced by the US Navy in the Strait of Hormuz was ongoing and that this activity was "producing successful results." He had suggested that Iran's oil infrastructure could collapse due to the blockade, noting that the filling of oil storage tanks and the inability to find new storage space could lead to technical problems. Stating that this situation could cause massive destruction to oil pipelines, Trump had said, "Iran's oil infrastructure has about 3 days left before it blows up."
