Iran's 10-point proposal revealed

US President Donald Trump announced that he has approved a two-week mutual ceasefire with Iran, provided that the Strait of Hormuz is fully opened.

Speaking 1.5 hours before the deadline given to Iran expired, Trump stated, "On the condition that Iran agrees to the full, immediate, and safe opening of the Strait of Hormuz, I agree to suspend bombing and attacks against Iran for a period of two weeks. This will be a bilateral ceasefire."

Trump also added, "We have received a 10-point proposal from Iran, and we believe it is a viable basis for negotiation."

NEGOTIATION VENUE: PAKISTAN

Following the decision for a ceasefire with Pakistan's intervention, a notable statement came from the Iranian side. The Tehran administration announced that the talks between the two countries would be held in Pakistan.

Reports in the Iranian press indicated that the ceasefire agreement was also approved by Iran's Supreme Leader, Mojtaba Khamenei.

In an official statement from Iran, it was said, "We aim to conclude the negotiations to be held in Pakistan within 15 days and to register the victory on the ground in the political arena as well."

10-POINT PROPOSAL ON THE TABLE

• The US providing a non-aggression guarantee in principle

• Passage through the Strait of Hormuz being conducted in a controlled manner in coordination with the Iranian Armed Forces

• Lifting of all sanctions on Iran

• Lifting of primary sanctions against Iran

• Termination of UN Security Council resolutions

• Termination of International Atomic Energy Agency resolutions

• Full compensation for damages caused to Iran according to calculations and the release of all frozen Iranian assets

• Withdrawal of US combat forces from all bases and deployment points in the region

• Ending the war against allied groups on all fronts, including Lebanon
