Iraq condemns the killing of Haniyeh

The Iraqi government has condemned the assassination of Hamas Political Bureau Chief Ismail Haniyeh in Iran.

In a statement issued by the government, it was stated that "This hostile act constitutes a clear violation of international law," and it was emphasized that the Iraqi government and its people stand with the Palestinian people and their government during this difficult time.

The statement added, "We call upon the international community to assume its responsibilities and take the necessary measures to stop repeated attacks and violations of state sovereignty, as this act poses a danger to the stability of the region."
